Projects

In the final project for this course, we were asked to pick one brand and research it and its social media in depth. I chose to do this project on a coffee shop in Connecticut, Vernon Coffee Roasters. In this project, we applied the insight tools we learned through the course including company overview and audit, social code elements, company goals and audiences, content creation, and a conclusion and recommendations. This project provided valuable insights into their brand presence and social media strategy. The final recommendations serve to enhance their social media performance and overall brand recognition, this demonstrates my ability to make strategic marketing decisions applied to real world businesses.
For my Operations Management class last Spring, we had the opportunity to do a semester long experiential project with a local non-profit as opposed to a series of case studies. The project was working with “Meals On Wheels” (CRT) in Hartford, Connecticut. This project interested me because this non-profit produces and delivers over 1,000 meals per day all over Connecticut, but they were having serious operational challenges hindering their efficiency and success. My team was assigned the inventory and receiving department, with multiple meetings and site visits we were able to make both short term and long term suggestions, both low-cost and higher-cost.

After working with CRT and developing a relationship with the admin team, I learned they were launching a catering venture to help fund their non-profit efforts to feed Connecticut. The director asked me if I could create the online ordering website. Having prior experience using square space at a former job I was able to apply that knowledge, and learn along the way to create this website. The catering service is now up and running, called Windsor Street Kitchen.
